A note from SIA President, Eden Climo 2023

Dear SIA Members,

As we reflect upon the past year, we are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support of this beautiful community. Your participation in the Southport Island Association allows us to continue our long standing traditions of charitable giving, bringing the community together, both literally and figuratively, as well as supporting community initiatives that contribute to the welfare of the town. Your belief in our mission and your dedication to making a positive impact in our community is what keeps us motivated and inspired.

The past year has been so much fun! With the addition of our Southport Island Concert Series, we were able to bring in an additional $13,000 for our Helping Hands fund which directly benefits our neighbors in need all year long. We’ve shared meals, from Lasagna and Love to the Annual Picnic, walked away the end of winter blues with some of Cape Newagen Alpaca Farm’s beautiful herd, welcomed in Summer by bringing back Bolster Day, and hosted an incredible speaker event with Paul Zalucky, which packed the Town Hall to standing room only - just to name a few of our wonderful community events! The work of the Southport Community Project’s dedicated, hardworking, team has allowed for continued forward progress in achieving a wonderful updated outdoor play space for the islands’ children. We are proud of their work and happy to be supportive of this island initiative.

As always, we are incredibly grateful to our volunteers and supporters who have been as steadfast as ever. The financial contributions, hours dedicated, skills shared, and the passion you've exhibited have been invaluable. You truly exemplify the spirit of giving back.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the opportunities that lie before us. We have ambitious goals to continue to expand our charitable giving, and initiate projects that enhance our island experience! Your involvement, whether through volunteering, spreading awareness, or making a donation, will make a lasting impact for generations to come.

We want to hear from you too! All of your feedback, ideas, and suggestions are incredibly valuable to us. As we work toward our shared vision, your input will help shape the future. Once again, we extend our heartfelt thanks for being an integral part of Southport Island Association. We encourage you to stay connected through our website, social media channels, and upcoming events.

With gratitude on behalf of the board,

Eden Climo, President
