The Southport Island Association (SIA) is a long-established civic organization located on Southport Island, Maine, in the Boothbay Harbor Region. SIA acquired 501 (c) (3) non-profit status in 2007. Founded in 1948 as a Southport Island civic association, SIA has remained faithful to its original mission: To preserve the Island’s natural beauty; To promote community interest; To work on behalf of the Island’s general welfare.
To those ends, since 1999, over 350 Association members have contributed more than $36,000 to regional charitable causes.
